Diabetes is a condition characterized by the inability of the pancrease to produce sufficient levels of insulin to prevent hyperglycemia. There are 3 main types of diabetes, type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is a disease that starts with the pancreas stops making insulin. Insulin makes blood sugar also called glucose enter the bodies cells to be used for energy. Without insulin, the cells can't get the sugar they need, and too much sugar builds up in the blood. Diabetes can cause sudden or long-term problems. If the body doesn't have enough insulin and the blood sugar gets very high, a sudden and very serious problem called diabetic ketoacidosis can happen.

Type 2 diabetes is a lifelong disease that affects the way your body uses food for energy. The disease develops when the cells of the body become resistant to insulin or when the pancreas cannot make enough insulin. Insulin is a hormone that helps your body's cells get needed energy from sugar. When insulin is not able to do its job, too much sugar builds up in your blood.

Controlling your blood sugar is the best way to avoid seious complications from type 2 diabetes, such as heart and blood vessel diseases. Many people who have type 2 diabetes enjoy healthy, active lives when there are able to control their blood sugar.

How does economy affect me and my family?

The economy here in Saipan has affected me badly. The big thing is the power situation. Before we always on the lights everywhere in the house and just leave them on but now we have to off all the lights when we are not using it at night. I think the economy is bad because the gas prices have gone up. The economy effects me badly. It is not fun to always be using the water and then always turn it off and the we have to turn it on again. Sometimes the bill gets raised up like up to $300 only on water. That is why we always use a little water now, We still use the water at my house beu we just don't leave it on that much. It is also the lights, sometimes we could just off the lights when we are done using the bookroom. People should learn how to save power. Who likes to pay a lot just on power, we have other things and sometimes the bill is just to big. The Gas prices keeps getting raised up. How will people going to spend a lot on power, a lot on gas and then food to feed their family. Saipan is a small island and this is how the economy will be, It is not good for the people.

Things to know about being a Freshmen

Things to Know about being a freshmen?
I went to school for seventh and eighth grade at Hopwood Junior High School. I remember going to school at Hopwood, it was kind of fun and I was shy and I did not know much about the school,but things started to get better for me.

I am currently a Freshmen at Saipan Southern High School. I remember the first day of school, The students were always polite and that was what I like about the school.

Saipan Southern High School is a lot of fun. I learned a lot going to school here and it was a lot of fun.

The school motto, "Un Eskuela Un korason," describes both our vision and the means to achieve that goal. Derived from the earliest of the settlers and the discovery of the Marianas Islands rooted in Spanish language and history.

Being a Freshmen has thought me a lot. I am more responsible and that makes me prepared to have a better future. All you have to do is Listen to your teachers and you will be on the right track.

High School is not easy, but it is the best!

What I've learned and found most interesting about my Research Project!

The Topic that I found interesting was about Literature and I learned that Romanticism was affirmative and appropriate for most American poets and creative essayists. The three known Romantic Poets are William Wordsworth,William Blake and Lord Byron. Romanticism has very little to do with things popularly thought of as "romantic," although love may occasionally be the subject of Romantic art. Rather, it is an international artistic and philosophical movement that redefined the fundamental ways in which people in Western cultures thought about themselves and about their world. Romanticism in art, European and American movement extending from about 1800 to 1850. Romanticism can be seen as a rejection of the percepts of order, calm, harmony,balance, idealization, and rationality that typified Classicism in general and late 18th - century Neoclassicism in particular. Romanticism emphasized the individual, the subjective, the imaginative, the spontaneous,the emotional and the visionary.
